Located in the picturesque village of St. Andrews, Antigonish County, Nova Scotia, St. Andrews Consolidated School serves students from Pre-Primary to Grade Six, with an enrollment of 265 students for the 2025-2026 school year.

A special thank you goes to Building Operator Hughie Chisholm and Custodial staff Courtney Pelrine and Derek Neary for their outstanding efforts in preparing our building for the new school year.

Our dedicated staff is committed to nurturing lifelong learners who are respectful, technologically proficient, and effective problem solvers and communicators. Our mission is to optimize learning opportunities for every student by providing tailored accommodations that support their strengths and needs, ensuring academic success.

Honoring the Celtic heritage of our community, we offer a Core Gaelic language program for students in Grades 4 to 6, alongside the regular Core French curriculum. Our school continues to embrace its growing multicultural community, celebrating diverse cultures through classroom and school-wide events.

At St. Andrews Consolidated School, we believe in fostering a strong sense of community where students, families, and staff work collaboratively to build on the strengths and values that define us. We are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every member feels valued and empowered to contribute to our collective growth and success.

Meet the Teacher Evening

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Wednesday, September 11, 2025, to meet our dedicated teaching team. We are delighted to welcome back returning teacher Shawna Duykers, along with new staff members Justine Moeller, Mary Beth Mills, Christina Hammam, Maryann McNamara, Laura Fidler and Amanda Snow.

Soft Start Routine

Our soft start continues from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., allowing students to ease into their day, engage in activities and enjoy a nutritious breakfast from our foods program.

Daily Hot Lunches and Breakfast Program

We provide a full daily breakfast and School Lunch Program to support student health and well-being. Hot lunches are available every day, with two lunch periods from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The provincial School Lunch Program has been ongoing since June. Additionally, daily breakfasts and snacks are accessible throughout the day via two “kids fridges” to promote wellness and readiness to learn.

After School Program

Lower South River Pre-school continues to offer an after school program at SACS for up to 24 students, prioritizing Pre-primary, siblings of Lower South River Preschool children, Grade Primary, and Grade 1 students (ages 4-6). If spaces remain, enrollment will extend to other students up to Grade 6.

Kindness Closet

Our Kindness Closet provides clothing, footwear, toiletries, and hygiene products in a non-judgmental space to support student well-being and foster a strong community spirit.

The students and staff of St. Andrews Consolidated School warmly welcome you and look forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, growth, and joyful experiences.
